'Pumped up' David Cameron pledges to create 600,000 startups a year [VIDEO]

The prime minister has pitched the Conservatives as the party of “roofers, tilers and builders” as he launched the Tories’ small business manifesto.

In an animated speech the jacketless Cameron addressed business owners in London.

Without a microphone and with the audience stood rather than seated, he shouted: "Taking a risk, having a punt, having a go. That pumps me up" before promising to make Britain “the startup nation of Europe, the startup nation of the world”.

Journalists at the event commented on how “lively” the prime minster was to which he replied: "If I’m getting lively about it, it’s because I’m feeling bloody lively about it".

In the manifesto document the Conservatives pledge to increase the number of business startups to 600,000 a year by the end of the next Parliament.
