The Grind Company talk coffee, culture and cashflow with LBC Radio

As part of our brand new radio partnership with LBC (97.3FM), we were excited to last night have our first slot of four as sponsor of The Money Hour on Monday evenings at 9.30pm.

We kicked off week one last night with Xero customer David Abrahamovitch, owner of The Grind Company in London. David opened the first location, Shoreditch Grind, in 2011 and now has three others dotted around London city – Soho Grind, Holborn Grind and its latest addition, London Grind at Number 2 London Bridge.

Speaking with LBC’s Clive Bull, David talked about how to maintain The Grind Company’s unique culture when expanding, and how to keep tabs on each part of the business as the locations spread around London.

“Because we’re a small company, we can pick all of our own systems and grow it as we do. Things like Xero and other cloud-based platforms and iPhone apps really help, especially when you’re running around the city between lots of different sites.

“And it’s really important to be passionate about what you do. Have fun; love what you’re doing. Also, have a vision and stick to it, because everyone will give you different advice. You have to pick the bits that you’re going to follow and trust your own convictions.

And of course, be sure to pop in before work for a flat white or after work for one of London’s best espresso martinis as rated by the Evening Standard!
